this previous weeks mileage was taken off a pencil/paper log i had before i joined the blog, not sure where i went by now.

speed workout with wasatch athletics.  Started with a lap around the park and then a mile of speed changes.  we did one 800, two 400's, and three 200's.  Cool down was another lap on the outside.  I felt pretty good during the speed, but i dont remember my times.

i felt really sluggish during the first two miles of the race, my legs were feeling like the just couldnt turn over as fast as i wanted them too.  I wanted to hit a faster time, but i guess bad days can happen.  Also the skyline cross country team came to this race, they had 5 people under 17:00.

i had a pretty good race today, it was my first 10k so i wasn't sure what kind of time i would be getting.  2 miles warm up and 4 miles cool down.  I think my chip time is off by 15 or 20 seconds though because my clock time was around 4:17 and i didnt start right on the line in the beginning.

did a bike/run at jeremy ranch in teams of two.  I was supposed to be with emma but she couldnt come so i was with susannah.  We would run one mile then bike one mile for 5 miles out then the 5 back.  Susannah and I were the first place team followed closely by Stefan and Jeromy.  This is a fun workout and we should do it again next year.

2 mile warm up with strides before the race.  I got off to a pretty good start in the race and was feeling good for the first loop, as the second loop began I started to lose contact with Spruce and by the third loop I had no hope of catching back up with him.  I need to work on my mental focus of staying up with people, i know i have the strength to gut it out and keep up with people, but today i just didnt and it caused me a much slower time than i know i am capable of.  I think if i could do this race over again i could drop over a minute from my time.

 

PM - i ran 2 light miles tonight to finish off my weekly mileage.
